FAQs

Here you can find my FAQs, but if you can't see what you're looking for, contact me via email, IG or Facebook.

  • What are hair extensions?
Hair extensions are a means of adding additional hair to your natural hair. This is usually to add length, thickness and volume. There are many methods of application – please see our Methods tab to see which hair extensions application techniques I use.
  • Can anybody have hair extensions?
There are some scalp conditions which are unfortunately not compatible with hair extensions eg. psoriasis, eczema, etc. However, the severity of these conditions can vary greatly from individual to individual and can be assessed at your consultation. Also, I usually recommend having at least shoulder-length hair in order to achieve a seamless blend of your natural hair with the extensions.
  • Do you charge for consultations?
Consultations are Free! All appointments must be secured using card details. Your card will not be charged without warning. A 30% fee will be charged in case of late cancellation within 24 hours, 50% fee will be charged in case of no-show.
  • Is there anything I need to do prior to my consultation appointment?
To help me get a clear indication of your hair’s condition and type, it's important that your hair is freshly washed and dried on the day of your consultation. I also recommend that if you plan to change the colour of your hair, you do so at least 2 weeks prior to having your hair colour matched.
  • What can I expect at my consultation?
The consultation gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have and to discuss what you hope to achieve from your hair extensions. I will ask you lots of questions about your hair type and lifestyle and depending on your answers we will discuss your individual aftercare regime. I always require a consultation appointment before ordering any hair. I will colour match with your natural hair and decide how much hair you will need to create a seamless blend with your natural hair.
  • Do you use Remy Hair?
I only use Grade A Russian Remy Hair. The term ‘Remy’ means that all the hair strands are running in the same direction – from root to tip. If any of the hair is running in the wrong direction – tip to root – the unaligned cuticles will cause friction and the hair will be knotty, matted and totally unmanageable. This is the best hair quality available and is available in over 150 colour combinations.
  • How long will my extensions last?
Russian Remy hair is of such exceptional quality that it can be reused multiple times, thereby lowering the cost of subsequent reapplications. This hair can be worn for up to 18 months, all that is needed is regular maintenance appointments and the proper aftercare. Maintenance appointments should be roughly every 5-8 weeks depending on hair growth. Maintenance appointments usually take between 2-4 hours depending on the state of the hair and the amount of hair.
  • How long will the fit appointment take?
This varies greatly from client to client. The following times are a guide only. Depending on the method of extensions being used, generally a fitting appointment of new hair will take around 3-5 hours depending on the amount of hair being fitted.
  • My hair needs trimming, shall I have this done before the fit appointment?"
I'll remove any split/dead ends when I blend your hair with the extension hair, so it isn’t necessary to have your hair trimmed prior to having your hair extensions fitted.
  • Can I remove my extensions myself?
I strongly advise against removing your own extensions as this can lead to your own hair being damaged.
  • How long does it take to remove my extensions?
Hair extensions removal appointments usually take around an hour, this may vary depending on the amount of extensions and the state of the hair.
